BUFT Signs MoU with Odoo Middle East DMCC to Enhance Digital Skills

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Odoo Middle East DMCC on 26 October 2026 to strengthen industry–academia collaboration and enhance students’ practical knowledge and digital competencies. The MoU was signed by BUFT Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan and Ms. Nafisa Rahman, Education Consultant at Odoo Middle East DMCC, at a ceremony held at the university’s conference room.

The partnership will provide BUFT students and faculty members with access to industry-relevant digital tools, educational resources and training in enterprise resource planning (ERP), accounting, inventory management and other business management applications. The initiative aims to promote practice-oriented teaching, support faculty development, bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, and improve students’ career readiness in an increasingly digital business environment.

BUFT student Toufiq Ahmed selected for Prime Minister Gold Medal

Toufiq Ahmed, a student from the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), has been selected for the prestigious Prime Minister Gold Medal 2021 for his outstanding academic achievements. Toufiq, a graduate of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program under the Faculty of Business Studies, secured the highest position in his faculty by achieving a near-perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.99.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh recently finalized the list of awardees from both public and private universities across the country. The gold medal is the highest academic honor bestowed upon university graduates in Bangladesh, recognizing their relentless dedication and excellence in tertiary education. The UGC is expected to host a formal award ceremony in the capital soon, where Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will personally hand over the gold medals and certificates to the meritorious recipients.

BUFT National Entrepreneurship Expo 2026 Opens

BUFT National Entrepreneurship Expo 2026 (3.0) opened on 7 October 2026 at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), bringing together students, academics, entrepreneurs and industry leaders to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and AI-driven business solutions. Organized by the BUFT Business Club in association with the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), the two-day expo is being held on 7–8 October under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation with AI: Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Sustainable Digital Transformation.” The expo aims to equip students with entrepreneurial skills and encourage them to harness AI and emerging technologies for innovative and sustainable ventures.

Among the distinguished guests were Mr. Md. Mesbha Uddin Ali, Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT; Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor, BUFT; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Kaisarul Haq, Member, Board of Governors, Spectrum International University College, Malaysia and Director, PRAN-RFL Group; Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor & Treasurer, BUFT; Mr. Md. Rafiquzzaman, Registrar; Prof. Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rahim, Dean, FBS, BUFT; Mr. Mohammad Imtiaj, Director of PRD, BUFT; Mr. H M Ashik Alahi, Head of Daraz Express; Mr. Md. Rajib Hossain, Managing Director, Rajib Engineering Limited; Mr. Mohammad Mainur Rahman Bhuiyan, CFO, Evercare Hospitals Bangladesh; Mr. Nahid Ashiquzzaman, Head of Supply Chain & Procurement, Dabur Bangladesh Private Limited; and Mr. Rakin Absar, Content Creator & Actor. BUFT deans and heads also attended the opening and various sessions.

The expo offers students opportunities to connect with industry professionals, explore business ideas and gain practical insights into entrepreneurship, innovation and the growing role of AI in the future of work and enterprise. The expo will continue tomorrow, 8 October, with further activities focused on developing students’ creativity, entrepreneurial capabilities and digital readiness.
