POSITION OF UNIVERSITY OF BRAZIL, CAMPINAS LTDA ON HONORARY DOCTORATE AWARDS
University of Brazil, Campinas Ltda recognizes the importance of maintaining academic integrity while also acknowledging the outstanding contributions of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, public servants, and community builders.
Honorary Doctorate Degrees are conferred by the institution as distinguished recognitions of exceptional service, leadership, innovation, humanitarian contributions, and societal impact.
The University acknowledges the distinction between earned academic doctorates obtained through formal study and research, and honorary doctorates awarded in recognition of extraordinary achievement.
While honorary recipients may be publicly recognized for their accomplishments, the University supports transparent identification of honorary awards through the use of appropriate post-nominal designations such as "Honoris Causa" rather than any representation that may imply completion of an academic doctoral program.
The University believes that society benefits when both academic excellence and practical achievement are recognized and celebrated.
Accordingly, honorary awards should continue to serve as a bridge between academic institutions and exceptional individuals whose contributions have significantly advanced business, education, healthcare, technology, public service, community development, culture, or humanitarian causes.
