Each February, Black History Month recognizes and honours the legacy of Black experiences and celebrates the achievements of Black people.

The invites students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to participate in a series of educational and engaging Black History Month events. Events are held virtually and are open to the public unless otherwise stated, registration is required. These events include interdisciplinary speakers and experts featuring Black literary artists, visual artists, scholars, scientists and culinary artists.

Recent world events have highlighted an urgent need to support Black communities. Show support by listening and learning.

People of African descent have been a fundamental part of Brantford’s history and have greatly contributed to the cultural, economic, political and social development of our community.

We encourage residents to follow as we share important stories, history, and feature black-owned small businesses to recognize Black History Month in .
