WE WANT YOU 🫵 YES YOU!
As the semester and the year come to a wrap, the Political Science Student Union invites every one of you to our last and biggest event yet: POLICYTHON!

It’s SFU’s first-ever Policy Case Competition! This year, we will be addressing the question of: “How should policymakers design a coordinated, evidence-informed response for East Hastings in the aftermath of BC’s decriminalization reversal?”

This is beginner-friendly, no prior prep or experience needed. Sign up individually or in a team at the link below for a chance to win from our prize pool of up to $1000! (Multiple prizes will be awarded)
- Open to all SFU undergraduates (open to all majors!)

The competition will take place on April 25th from 10 AM to 3 PM at the SUB Ballroom. You will be given more context and details during the event, as well as an hour during the event to develop your proposal.

Special guests are coming as our judges (including Vancouver municipal councillor for COPE, Sean Orr!)

Full catering and refreshments will be provided at the event, too!

Hi everyone! 🔈

We are excited to announce the PSSU’s first ever Policython! This event will be happening on April 25th, 9:30AM! This event will be an opportunity for policy-focused students to compete in making create, evidence-based policy solutions!

Details:
📆 Date: April 25th, 2026
⏱️ Time: 9:30AM-5:00PM tentative end-time
🎪 Location: SUB Ballroom
❓ Who can apply: Any undergraduate student available on April 25th!
💰 Join for a chance to win HUGE prizes! Gift cards, cash prizes, and more!
🍲 Full catering, and refreshments will be provided at the event!
DEADLINE TO APPLY: APRIL 19TH, 11:59PM

The general topic to be discussed is the Post Drug Decriminalization situation in the Downtown Eastside Area.

This topic is general enough so that students who specialize in various forms of policy can participate. This is including, but not limited to:

- Housing / Homelessness
- Drug / Health Policy
- Policing Practices
- Comparative Policy Implementation
