Are you a final-semester student or a post-secondary graduate seeking employment?
Apply for ADaPT, a no-cost program that provides you with 70+ hours of intensive skills training through professional and digital workshops, and helps you secure a paid position in information and communication technology. Graduates and final-semester students from any post-secondary program are welcome to apply.

ADaPT is a competitive program with a rigorous screening process. To be selected, you must demonstrate a commitment to complete the training and actively participate in all programming. You are also responsible for actively seeking placement opportunities while leveraging the support of the program. Your application will be evaluated on your academic and professional achievements, as well as your personal motivation.

We welcome all post-secondary graduates and final semester students to apply. Please note that we aim to support equity-deserving groups, so they will be given priority consideration during the recruitment process.

Annual MRU Student Leadership Conference

Kick-Off and Pitch Competition Launch
Friday, January, 20th from 7 - 9 p.m

This NEW evening social event provides the opportunity to gather with fellow student leaders from all over campus ahead of the 2023 Student Leadership Conference. You will be able to relax, unwind, and develop meaningful connections with others. This is a fantastic way to meet others in an informal and casual setting. Food will be provided. Additionally, we will be introducing a NEW Leadership Pitch Challenge. With a team, you are invited to ideate and develop a solution to a current challenge that students are experiencing at MRU. The winning group will receive $500 towards implementing the project on campus.

Mount Royal's Student Leadership Conference (SLC) is an annual conference that brings together student leaders from across the community to share their experiences and knowledge about leadership through conference sessions. SLC is open to all current student leaders, in Calgary and area, as well as any students interested in future leadership roles.

This year's theme is centered on encouraging students to ignite their passion for leadership, innovate and find solutions to complex problems, and inspire each other and future leaders to come! The conference will include presentations from other student leaders, an opportunity to engage with current and past student leaders, and a new and exciting leadership pitch competition.

The Department of Health & Physical Education is currently in the process of creating and introducing a new Minor in Outdoor Leadership that will be available to students throughout MRU. This minor would be available to all students but might be more applicable to certain majors which is why we are reaching out to you directly.

We feel that this minor is uniquely positioned to provide the skills and knowledge that will allow practitioners in a diversity of fields to operate safely and effectively in the outdoor context. Outdoor leadership acumen expands the scope of educators, increases possibilities for Business students, provides safety for scientists conducting remote field work, and offers a range of additional tools to social workers, and other professionals in the areas of health and wellness.

To gather feedback and interest levels in the proposed Minor in Outdoor Leadership, the department is asking for feedback in the form of a short survey that can be found online at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSedKKluf3kmCPGPY2JjX0arUUhPhfoQGCKwaWb0MP4lnKabZg/viewform.
