Congratulations to Judy Anderson, MFA, Professor, Art and Art History, on receiving a Creativity Award in Connection, Community and Culture at the 2026 Faculty of Arts Awards.

Grounded in nêhiyaw (Cree) knowledge systems, Anderson advances creativity as a community-rooted and culturally accountable practice. Through beading, performance and collaborative installations, her work centres Indigenous ways of knowing while creating space for learning, dialogue and connection.

How do we make sense of language as we read, listen and interact with others?

Join visiting scholar Dr. Brian Dillon, PhD, for a hands-on workshop exploring how eye-tracking technology helps researchers better understand human language processing. Participants will gain practical experience with research tools, experimental design and data analysis.

The workshop is designed for graduate students, post-doctoral scholars and faculty with background in linguistics or cognitive science.

A University of Calgary-led program focused on engineering and science sustainability training has received $1.65 million in NSERC CREATE funding.

The initiative will help prepare graduate students to tackle complex sustainability challenges through ethical design, science communication, community-based science and policy, while also integrating arts-based approaches to science communication through storytelling and performance.

New research led by Dr. Sheri Madigan, PhD, professor in the Department of Psychology, examined data from more than two and a half million adults across 102 countries to better understand the prevalence and long-term impacts of adverse childhood experiences.

Published in The Lancet Public Health, the research is also featured on ACEsHub.org, an interactive platform designed to make global ACEs data more accessible.
