Next week, the Prairies Regional Adaptation Collaborative (PRAC) is hosting a virtual event for the release of the Prairie Provinces Chapter of Canada in a Changing Climate: Regional Perspectives Report.

The webinar will take place on Monday December 7th from 12-1:30pm MST (1-2:30pm CST). Swipe to see the list of speakers, which includes REES Professor Debra Davidson!

Representatives from Natural Resources Canada and the team of authors from the Prairie Provinces Chapter will share an overview of the national assessment process and discuss the key messages from the chapter, including shifting ecosystems, extreme weather events, water management, agriculture, social considerations, and adaptation planning.

📣 Applications are now open for our MAg course-based masters program!

With two focus areas of study (agricultural economics and rural and environmental sociology), this 12-month Masters in Agriculture program will help those in the early or mid-stages of their career focus on the interpretation, adaptation, and application of research findings.

The program will run from September 2021 to August 2022. Applications are due by March 1, 2021.

Last Friday, our department hosted the annual REES Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition and Awards Ceremony!

It was fantastic to see the faces of colleagues, students, and friends of the department. A fantastic job was done by all of our student presenters - fitting such interesting thesis topics into a three minute presentation is no easy task!

Congratulations to MSc student Sonak Patel for taking first place in the 3MT competition and to all award recipients! 🎉
