Date & Time: Thursday, March 25th at 5:30 AST

Kevin Mitts is a former Master of Information Management graduate at SIM, and a proven leader in cloud computing, with experience in tech development, SRE, and user-experience. We are pleased to welcome him virtually on Thursday March 25th, at 5:30 AST for a lively discussion and Q&A follow-up. Shauntee Burns Simpson will be speaking on behalf of the Black Caucus American Library Association (BCALA), sharing her perspective as the acting president, spreading outreach and engagement to strengthen awareness of library services in the community. As a youth librarian, Shauntee works closely with at risk teens and fosters a love of learning and reading through her innovative programing. Shauntee is also the acting Chair of the Committee on Diversity (ALA), and is passionate to share stories with others, especially in the MLIS community.

We look forward to welcoming Shauntee to our neck of the woods at Dalhousie's SIM program. This event looks to bring together communities of library and information professionals from our SIM Alumni graduates, to Nova Scotia's Community College, the Halifax Library Association, SIM faculty, and students. This event will begin with introductions, and follow with a live Q & A, so come with questions ready at the end, or enjoy listening to stimulating discussions with good company. See you there!

An MS teams invite will circulate closer to the date. Keep your eyes on your inbox!
