Happy Black History Month✊🏾

_________
The theme this year is “Creative Advocacy: Uplifting Black Health, Art, and Community Action,”

This theme was created by Dalhousie’s African Heritage Month Flagship Event Planning Committee:

Amina Abawajy, Education Advisor, Office for Equity & Inclusion, Human Rights & Equity Services

Pamela Edmonds, Director/Curator, Dalhousie Art Gallery

Ariann Greenidge, Executive Assistant, People & Culture

Jalana Lewis, Director, African Nova Scotian Community Engagement, People & Culture

28 days is not enough to capture the impact, legacy, connection, innovation, diverse heritage, community and love… but in the meantime we will celebrate, practice rest, embrace joy and most of all remember.

We encourage you to check out Dalhousie Art Gallery’s new exhibition, It’s About Time: Dancing Black in Canada 1900–1970 and Now
