A professor of political sciences from the University of Molise was asked to comment about the real meaning of "right of centre politics" generally espoused by the Pdl party. After a brief moment of reflection he replied: no one in Italy knows where the centre is, the line seems to have been erased. Politics is the art of the possible (Metternich) and realpolitik is not what we imagined politics to be when we were very young and naive men. Realpolitik has its own vocabulary, its own rules of morality. The everyday moral compass refuses to work when practical politic are concerned. The Italians call it "politichese"- a topsy turvy word of Alice in Wonderland. Once you are learned in the "politichese" you will forget the previous meaning of all words you knew, and you will join the fraternity of politicose. Realpolitik is like Hell: a great destination for those who wanted to be there, a place of infinite suffering for those who find themseves there by mistake.-Michael Spensieri

A hospital in Padua Italy no longer gives out visitation bracelets to men visiting their newborn child. The reason: the hospital does not wish to offend homosexual men and women who are playing the role of "fathers" but have no biological connection to the happy event. Instead the bracelet says "partner" so that the deignated person can have access.

This is reverse discrimination of the worst kind. Surely straight males who biologically connected to the child should get a bracelet for fathers and all others can be "partners". The problem is limited to lessbian women only. The term "father is out of place". A gay man (as in the case of surrogate birth) can also be called father. So the issue concerns ony le***an women visting their partner who is having their child through insemination.
