Spend your summer as a SWEP student with RARC's transitions team! You’ll be part of a team of educators, psychologists and transition specialists, providing programming and supports to students with learning differences who are making the transition to high school and post-secondary school.

✨ You’ll get to:
✅ Be part of the delivery and success of RARC's transition programming
✅ Plan and co-lead our Summer Transition Camp
✅ Develop & update content for our Transition Resource Guide
✅ Collaborate in research meetings & projects
✅ Dive into literature reviews & manuscript prep

We’re excited to invite you to our Transition Information Night webinar on Friday, November 26, 2024, from 6:00-7:00pm. If you want to know about the supports, resources, and steps to feeling more confident and prepared for the transition to post-secondary, then attending this session is a must!

What to Expect:
- Understand the rights and responsibilities of a student at the various levels of education.
- Discover essential skills and resources that help secondary students with feel more prepared and confident to begin post-secondary education.
- Learn the importance of assessments as part of transition planning and why they are important for accessing appropriate accommodations.

Attention Queen's University students! We are hiring a SWEP summer student to be part of the transition program team at the Regional Assessment and Resource Centre (RARC), located at Queen’s University. RARC provides services and supports to students with learning disabilities (LD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and mental health disorders across Southern Ontario.

Spend your summer as part of the RARC team of educators, psychologists and transition specialists, providing programming and supports to students with learning differences who are making the transition to high school and post-secondary school.

All of RARC’s programs provide students with a deeper understanding of their own disability while helping to develop the skills and strategies needed for success. This role is perfect for Queen's students interested in education, psychology, and working with and supporting students!

Join us on Friday November 24, 2023 from 2:00-3:30pm to learn about “Supporting Successful Transitions from Secondary to Post-Secondary and Beyond!”

This FREE, virtual presentation, will discuss programming, accommodations, and supports that equip secondary students with disabilities with the necessary knowledge and skills to access post-secondary education. Presenters will highlight the important role of transition planning to help students feel more confident and prepared to meet educational challenges. The role of assessment and appropriate determination and implementation of accommodations will also be central to the discussion.

This training is appropriate for school administration, resource teachers, guidance counsellors, and others supporting students.
