Ready to build a racecar? Applications for the Queen’s Racing team are officially LIVE! 🏎️💨

Every year, our multidisciplinary team designs, builds, and races a fully electric race car from concept to track. This is your chance to build real experience outside of schoolwork. Choose from one of our 11 subteams, including three dedicated to the operations side.
All faculties are welcome and no prior motorsport experience is required; just drive, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.

🔗 Link to apply is in our bio!
📅 Deadline: September 20th at 11:59 PM

Please note: if you’re a former team member returning from QUIP and need to be re-added to our Teams, please send a quick email to [email protected]

As we close the chapter on Q26 and look back on our final days at competition, it’s hard not to be proud of everything this team has accomplished.

While unfortunately falling a couple steps before passing tech, this year was filled with achievements. We designed, built and ran the first electric race car in school history, returned to competition for the first time in 7 years and increased female representation across the team with a significant increase in women holding leadership positions. This team has built a foundation that will continue to push the team forward for years to come.

To our graduating engineers: Lindsay, Joellie, Allan, Cem, Finley and Jack. Thank you for the years of commitment, leadership, and knowledge you’ve shared.

To our faculty advisors, sponsors, alumni, and supporters: none of this would have been possible without your guidance, resources, and belief in what we are building.

And to every member of Q26: thank you for showing up, putting in the work, and proving what can be achieved when a group of passionate students commits to a common goal.

The season may be over but the future is bright! 🏎️⚡️

One of these went 6:15:977 on the Nürburgring, not saying which we’ll let you decide. 👀

Day 1 & 2 at Michigan complete!

Day one saw a delay due to weather conditions slowing down the tech lineups.
Day two the team made it through both accumulator techs and frame SES. Looking forwards to the rest of the week!

As the school year comes to a close, the team would like to recognize the two Electrical and Computing Engineering Capstone groups that worked with us. These teams were able to find success through navigating Capstone course objectives, the hefty FSAE rule book and current team systems. Here is a bit about the brilliant work these 7 students completed.

Vehicle Control Unit - Arandjel Dimitrijevic, Jack Merker & Taeson Titus

An electric car requires a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) which acts as the ‘brain’ of the car. In a gas car, a similar system exists and is refered to as the Engine Control Unit (ECU). The team developed an operational VCU PCB that communicates with the pedal box and inverter for acceleration control and can serve as a diagnostic tool for safety purposes.

Battery Management Sysem - Allan Li Yang, Louie Howard, Oak Campbell & John Guven

A Battery Management System (BMS) controls battery charging and discharging, manages operating conditions, enforces safety limits and determines battery state of charge all while reporting important telemetr and battery information to other devices. The team was tasked with designing a BMS due to limited purchasing options due to cost and FSAE applications. The team was able to design a scalable product that the Tractive Systems sub-team can further develop.
