Cultural Studies at Queen's University PhD candidate Christopher Wilson has earned a Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship (Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation), one of only 18 PhD students in Canada to earn the honour. Christopher's research focuses on the alter-archives of Black sound recordings from the 1960s to the early 2000s. Congratulations Christopher!

Dr. Alfred R. Bader’s legacy was recently honoured at the American Chemical Society International Historic Chemical Landmark Ceremony. This occasion marked the first ACS International Historic Chemical Landmark designation in Canada in over 20 years, making this celebration a historic event for Queen's University and the Canadian chemical community. The ceremony was organized by the Q-ACS International Student Chapter and included a plaque unveiling recognizing Dr. Bader’s impact. Also in attendance was two time Nobel winner K. Last week, Queen's Classics and Archaeology hosted the annual conference of the Classical Association of Canada / Société canadienne des études classiques for the first time. The multi-day event featured nearly 200 academics from around the world gathering for panel discussions, workshops, poster presentations, the Annual General Assembly of the Classical Association of Canada, and a keynote lecture by Professor Vinciane Pirenne-Delforge, chair of Religion, History, and Society in the Ancient Greek world at the Collège de France.

Queen's Classics and Archaeology Masters student Robert Carrusca recently earned the Masters Student Abstract Award at a conference hosted by the UofA History, Classics, and Religion Graduate Students' Association at the University of Alberta. The theme of the conference was Memory and Narrative and included a series of panels of various sub-themes on scholarly work examining the past through the lens of memory and narrative.
