23 of our students took their learning overseas last week with a hands-on study trip to Italy, training at in Brescia. From espresso and Italian baking classes to visiting parmesan manufacturers and preparing their own graduation luncheon, this experience blended real-world skills with unforgettable moments.

Thank you to the wonderful team at CAST Alimenti for welcoming our students and providing them with a learning experience unlike no other and to program coordinators Chef Hersey, Chef Hofner and Chef Rieger for accompanying our students in this educational trip.

Students involved in this trip were part of our Baking & Pastry Arts Management (BPM), Culinary Skills (CHF), Nutrition & Food Service Management (FNM), and Culinary Management (CLM) programs. To learn more about each program, visit the link in our bio.

We recently spoke with Megan, an online Event Planning student, who told us what it’s like completing the Event Planning program online and organizing She Shines: A Girls Night for Anova, a full in-person charity event supporting Anova, for her group’s capstone project 💖

From managing risks to creating meaningful experiences for guests, Megan shared how the skills she learned in the program helped bring this event to life.

Event Planning Co-Op (SEP) is a two-year diploma program at Fanshawe that prepares students for careers in event management, corporate and sports events, festivals, weddings, and non-profit events. Students learn how to plan, coordinate, market, and execute events from start to finish, gaining real-world experience through fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, and a live capstone event project.

Learn more about the program here: https://www.fanshawec.ca/programs/sep2-event-planning-co-op/next

The She Shines event is proof that online event planning students can still gain real-world event management experience 🎉

Our Golf & Club Management students hosted their 19th Annual Golf Event & Auction: Golf in the North - A Journey Across Canada at the Downtown Campus, bringing together mini golf, a state-of-the-art golf simulator, draw prizes, great food, and industry networking.

Events like this are part of the experiential learning that makes the Fanshawe Golf & Club Management Program unique. Students combine business fundamentals with hands-on experience, connect with PGA of Canada professionals, visit golf courses, and build real industry relationships while studying.

Proceeds from the event support the Tyson Tour, with the virtual auction open until March 13. See the link in ‘s bio for more information.
