Building strong community connections is an important part of preparing future social workers.
Our Social Work program hosted its Practicum Orientation, bringing together students and community partners who will be supporting them throughout their placements. With students and practicum sites represented, the event provided an opportunity to share information, answer questions, and begin building the relationships that help create meaningful learning experiences.
Practicum is a cornerstone of the Social Work program, with students completing 700 hours of hands-on learning in community settings. By bringing students and site partners together before placements begin, we can reduce uncertainty, foster collaboration, and ensure everyone starts with the same information and shared expectations.
We are grateful to our community partners whose support helps shape the next generation of social work professionals.
