Centre de recherches mathématiques Le CRM (1968) est une plaque tournante mondiale en sciences mathématiques. Elle est également unique dans le monde. It is also unique in the world.

Grâce à sa programmation de renommée internationale lancée par le CRM dans les années 80, ses ateliers scientifiques et ses activités de transfert et de formation, ses 1500 chercheurs invités chaque année provenant des quatre coins du monde, grâce à ses dix laboratoires impliquant plus de 200 chercheurs de douze grandes universités du Québec et de l'Ontario, le Centre de recherches mathématiques (

CRM) est une plaque tournante mondiale en sciences mathématiques. La structure double sur laquelle est construite le CRM -- une programmation exigeante de niveau international en parallèle avec des laboratoires de recherche de haute performance -- est unique au Canada. With its world-renowned thematic programming introduced by the CRM in the 80's, its scientific workshops and outreach activities, its 1,500 annual visiting scientists from around the world, and ten laboratories directly involving more than 200 researchers from twelve major universities in Quebec and Ontario, the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) is a major hub for the mathematical sciences. The dual structure on which the CRM is built -- top level international scientific programming running in parallel with ten high-performance research laboratories -- is unique in Canada.

His research has transformed our understanding of matter under extreme conditions by revealing deep connections between gravity, quantum field theory, and fluid dynamics.
