Meet Izzy! One of our incredible Ontario Tech Engineering alumni!
After earning a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics Engineering and a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, she has since built an exciting career in automation and innovation.
Her master's thesis, “Proof of Concept for Computer Vision-Based Failure Detection and Print Resumption in Fused Filament Additive Manufacturing”, explored how computer vision can allow for recovery of a 3D print after an abrupt failure, improving the reliability of 3D printing processes.
Following graduation, she worked as an Automation Engineer at Caterpillar (CAT), developing autonomous navigation and operation systems for mining equipment. Today, she is a Research & Development Engineer at ACE, where she helps test and validate innovative ideas.
Outside of her professional work, she continues to make an impact in the STEM community as a FIRST Robotics alumni who has served as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Durham College FIRST Robotics Competition event for the past three years, helping create meaningful experiences for students and inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators.
We're proud to celebrate alumni like her who are advancing technology, leading with purpose, and giving back to their communities.
