On Thursday, May 28, the School of Health Studies, in partnership with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, hosted One Million Canadian Hearts, an initiative to screen one million Canadians for cardiovascular disease risk factors.

The campaign includes free screenings for adults 18+ with no known heart conditions.

• A brief health assessment
• Blood pressure measurement
• A rapid blood test
• Same day results with personalized recommendation

Nursing students took part in an educational mock station from the University of Ottawa Heart Institute’s team, discussing methods of assessment and identifying risk factors for heart disease.
