Laboratory for the Interdisciplinary Study of Food (LISF) brings together researchers and students from the social sciences (Anthropology, Economics, International Development, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology and Women’s Studies), and from other disciplines (Agronomy, Human Kinetics, and Environmental, Health and Nutrition Studies). It also draws on members from diverse organ

The primary purpose of the LISF is to create an inclusive space for constructive dialogue and debate around the issue of food with the hope that this will enable new research partnerships amongst scholars and between the university and the broader community. LISF equally aims to increase the visibility of food-related research, programs, and initiatives taking place at the University of Ottawa and in the region.
