🎨 Watercolour Landscapes with Tanya Fenkell

Explore the expressive possibilities of watercolour through landscape painting. Learn foundational techniques like wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry, blending, composition, layering and notan. Through relaxed demos and hands-on practice, you’ll build a personal toolkit to support confident, creative interpretations of your favourite landscapes.

🌟 Spotlight on kids camps in Belleville 🌟

Our creative camps are designed with kids at the centre of the experience. Across each week, children explore, create and build confidence through hands-on projects that help them try new ideas and discover what they’re capable of as young artists.

This July, campers will be taught by Rebecca Reynolds, an accomplished artist and educator with over 25 years of experience working with children in art centres, galleries, museums, libraries, camps and classrooms. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University and a teaching degree from Nipissing University and is currently completing her Master’s.

Her expressive, process-driven curriculum encourages experimentation while helping kids develop their creative voice. Campers are introduced to a range of artists, mediums and styles through engaging themes and techniques that bring learning to life in a memorable way.

Learn gouache this summer!🎨

Used by manuscript artists as early as the 1500s and embraced by painters and illustrators for centuries, this versatile medium is making a vibrant comeback. Fast drying, portable and richly opaque, gouache is perfect for everything from travel sketching to more focused studio work.

You’ll explore what makes gouache so unique, from painting light over dark to building bold areas of colour and creating that beautiful soft matte finish. Through demos and personalized guidance, you’ll create colourful landscapes using both provided references and your own images.

Whether you’re new to painting or looking to try something different, this course offers a fresh and accessible way to expand your practice. The skills you build will also carry over into acrylic, oil and traditional watercolour.

Explore Prince Edward County through your camera lens this summer with acclaimed photographer and instructor, Rob Stimpson. 📷

From the shores of Lake Ontario to the sand dunes and rolling hills, you’ll spend the week immersed in some of the region’s most inspiring landscapes while learning how to see, compose and capture images with intention.🌳🌊

Rob brings international recognition and expedition experience in places like Antarctica and the Arctic, as well as work with Ontario Tourism, Parks Canada and Ontario Parks. Through guided field sessions, demonstrations and one-on-one feedback, you’ll build both your technical skills and your creative eye.

Whether you’re looking to refine your photography or develop a more personal style, this experience will help you move beyond snapshots and begin creating images with real impact.

Step outside the classroom this summer and join us for our plein air experiences in Port Hope and Prince Edward County 🌿🎨

Led by artist Luke Despatie, painters will work directly from life, focusing on capturing expressive movement, fleeting light and shifting atmosphere through bold brushwork, confident colour choices and simplified forms. Live demonstrations and individualized guidance will support you in responding intuitively to the landscape, emphasizing energy, mood and personal interpretation.

Inspired by the documentary Bone Wind Fire, this week-long course with Sharlena Wood offers a rich exploration of each artist's work during a fascinating time in art history. Through the study of key pieces featuring flowers, landscapes and symbolic imagery, you will explore what makes their approach so unique and defining.

Have you ever wanted to create and bind your own books? Join artist Holly Dean Artsy Life for a week-long creative adventure into the art of handmade books.🪡📚🎨

In this hands-on course, you will design expressive book covers using acrylic paints and mediums, collage, dimensional elements, stamps and stencils, markers, pencils and image transfers. Along the way, you will experiment with materials, layer imagery and bring your ideas to life both inside and out.

Throughout the week, you will create at least three unique book structures while learning coptic, long stitch and accordion bookbinding techniques. You will also learn essential bookbinding terms and build your own collapsible bookbinding cradle to take home.

Whether you are a curious beginner or an experienced artist looking for a new creative outlet, this course offers a welcoming space to explore bookmaking as both a functional craft and a form of artistic expression.
