Thank you to everyone who attended our annual Year-End Celebration event celebrating student success! We had over 100 students, staff and community partners in attendance.

This year the theme was Picnic in the Park and guests were treated to an amazing array of gourmet sandwiches from River City Coffee Roasters, Bakery and Eatery. There were also activities, prizes and a vintage car show.

This year also marked the beginning of a new campus tradition... The Message Tree! Students and guests were invited to write a message to future students beginning in September and hang their leaf on the tree (which is now installed in our lobby). As the event progressed the tree grew.

Congratulations to all our students this year for your hard work, your focus and your positive attitude to learning.

Prepare yourself for the on-highway air brake endorsement (Code 15), a course that is also required if you plan on driving an RV, small truck or bus with air brakes.

In an interactive experience you'll gain a clear understanding of how an air brake system works and learn the benefits and safety measures air brakes provide for heavy vehicles. The course includes 8 hours of theory, 4 hours of practical training and a pre-trip vehicle inspection.

Successful participants must pass a written exam taken at the driver's licensing office and qualify on the practical Air Brake Pre-Trip exam conducted on site on the last day of the course. The ICBC exam must be written within 90 days of course completion, resulting in Air-Brake Endorsement.

Friday, May 1, 6 to 10 pm and Saturday, May 2, 8 am to 3 pm.

NOTE: You may be eligible for financial assistance! Contact Work BC Powell River 604-485-7958
