New Course!

Build confidence and gain creative control with your camera across ten hours of in-class instruction plus a three-hour field trip.

Participants will explore core principles including composition, exposure, ISO, shutter speed, aperture and focal length along with the strengths and limitations of various lenses.

The class includes a 3-hour field trip on Saturday October 17 and an in-class portrait session.

This course is designed for beginners and enthusiasts. Students with their own DSLR camera will gain the most, however those with an advanced point-and-shoot camera or a higher-end smartphone (iPhone 12 Pro/ProMax and above) will still gain plenty of insight and practical tips.

📣 Vancouver Island University has opened registration for an agriculture micro-credential program that offers a comprehensive introduction to the science, principles and practices that support sustainable, regenerative and agro-ecological farming systems.

The program includes four micro-credentials:
🌾 Sustainable Soils Management: Surviving to Thriving
🌾 Agroecology: Perspectives, Principles and Practices
🌾 Livestock Husbandry Fundamentals
🌾 Seed Security: Organic Vegetable Seed Production

All four of these courses can be taken remotely (field days are optional).
