This morning at the 38th Annual Students’ Association Leadership Awards, we had the privilege of celebrating the remarkable talent, dedication, and leadership within our student community.

Leadership is not defined by a title or a position; rather, it’s reflected in how individuals inspire and motivate others, take initiative, and rise to challenges. It’s about collaboration, making tough decisions, and guiding others toward success with integrity and vision. Whether in the classroom, on campus, or within the community, this year’s award recipients have demonstrated what it means to lead with purpose.

"Remembrance Day is a day of reflection where we honour the strength and perseverance of soldiers who fought for our peace and freedom. It also allows us to acknowledge that it takes a whole community to hold the homefront whilst our soldiers are abroad defending our interests. While deployed overseas on Op Reassurance, I had tremendous support from the RDP community, teachers and faculty. Had it not been for the support of those here, I would not have been able to focus fully on my task overseas as I would be distracted by concerns at home. I want to genuinely thank you all for all of the support that you have and continue to show." Bridget Anderson, member of 41 Signal Regiment and SARDP Student Councillor

Thank you to the brave individuals who have served, and continue to serve, our country. Your courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

The Students' Association, and it's businesses will be closed on Tuesday, November 11 in honor of Remembrance Day.
