The 2026 teacher internship journey is officially underway!
Our teacher candidates came together with their cooperating teachers for a day of learning, connection, mentorship and collaboration as they prepare to begin their internships.
Through the dayโ€™s sessions and conversations, our interns gained a clearer understanding of what lies ahead in their classrooms and are ready to take the next step and put their learning into practice.
A heartfelt thank-you to our wonderful cooperating teachers and school partners for supporting our teacher candidates throughout this important part of their teacher education journey.

Congratulations to Faculty of Education researcher Dr. Angela McGinnis, who is serving as Project Co-Director of a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Grant supporting a national network exploring human-animal connections.
"This partnership creates exciting opportunities to work alongside researchers and communities across Canada to better understand the role that animal-human relationships play in our lives. Guided by Indigenous Elders and community leaders, we seek to build a relational framework of nature connectedness that explains how relationships between humans, animals, and the natural world contribute to holistic health and community well-being.
