finally, the moment most of you have been waiting for… PRIZES
we are so happy to announce that this years 72 hour film festival will be giving away cash prizes in the following categories: Best picture, Runner up, audience choice, as well as best technique, prop use and line delivery. We have always said the main goal of the festival is to have fun, but sometimes fun just isn’t enough so a little cash incentive doesn’t hurt either.
Don’t forget to sign up with mat at [email protected] before Wednesday February 22nd to be eligible for our early bird hint!!

🎥 February Essential Cinema title announcement!

🍿 This Black History Month we wanted to focus on the priceless contributions of Black directors, artists, actors and creatives to cinema. Our screening selection is SORRY TO BOTHER YOU (2018) dir. Boots Riley

Feb 11 @ 6PM - TICKET LINK IN OUR BIO!

🎞 “The debut film from director Boots Riley, Sorry to Bother You takes a massive swing that many others are too afraid to. From the opening sequence the audience is told to expect the unexpected. Sorry to Bother You follows Cassius “Cash” Green (pun intended), played by the incredibly charming Lakeith Stanfield in his breakout role, as he starts a new job at a telemarketing company. Through various motifs that are equal parts hilarious and devastating, the film comments on race, class division and the dark side of American business. Lakeith Stanfield and co-star Tessa Thompson are joined by a knockout supporting cast featuring Steven Yeun, Terry Crews, Danny Glover, Armie Hammer and David Cross in an unseen role. Sorry to Bother You, screening February 11th, is hilarious, strikingly intelligent and above all absolutely insane.”
- CPCF student Mathew Chamberlain
