💙 July 30 is the International Day of Friendship, a day that recognizes the power of connection, collaboration, and understanding between people, cultures, and communities.

Strong relationships are at the heart of meaningful progress. Through our Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Dimensions-funded initiative, Lambton College, Fanshawe College and Mohawk College are strengthening equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) practices by building partnerships, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for more inclusive research environments.

Our success is rooted in the strong relationships we share with institutional partners and community organizations. Through their perspectives, expertise, and collaboration, we are co-creating more equitable and inclusive spaces for research and innovation.

Yesterday, we were pleased to welcome Christophe Van Overstraeten from the Invest in Wallonia in Toronto for a visit to our Research & Innovation department.

During the visit, Christophe toured our research facilities to learn more about Lambton College’s applied research capabilities and the ways we collaborate with industry partners to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase how Lambton College brings together researchers, industry partners, and students to support innovation, experiential learning, and the development of the skilled workforce needed for the future.

The Wallonia-Belgium Trade & Investment Office works to develop and foster business relationships between the Belgian regions of Wallonia and Brussels and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Manitoba. Visits like these help strengthen international connections and create opportunities to share knowledge and explore future collaboration.

Thank you, Christophe, for taking the time to visit Lambton College. We look forward to continuing conversations that advance innovation, strengthen international partnerships, and create opportunities for students, researchers, and industry.

🌎July 11 was World Population Day, a reminder of the importance of creating healthy, sustainable, and inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.​

At Lambton College, along with our partners Fanshawe College and Mohawk College, our Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Dimensions-funded initiative is helping strengthen equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in applied research through enhanced training, mentorship, and institutional practices. ​

These values are reflected across our research projects, including initiatives focused on building more inclusive communities and improving access to support, such as:​
🔹Advancing Healthier Communities through Inclusive Social Prescribing Models with the Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Teams.​
🔹BeFarmWell: Inclusive Agriculture-Informed Health and Wellness with the National Farmers Mental Health Alliance.​
