Join Us for a Screening & Discussion of Goran Hugo Olsson’s film “Concerning Violence” this Wednesday!

When: Wednesday March 8th, 6-9pm
Where: Room HW-305
* Pizza & Refreshments at 6pm, film screening begins at 6:30pm followed by a group discussion led by Professor Neil Roberts, Department of Political Science

Film Synopsis: Concerning Violence is a visual narrative from Africa based on archive material from Swedish documentaries 1966-1987 covering the struggle for liberation from colonial rule. This powerful footage is combined with text from Frantz Fanon’s landmark book The Wretched of the Earth – written in 1960 and still a major tool for understanding and illuminating the neocolonialism happening today, as well as the unrest and the reactions against it (adapted from http://story.se/film/concerning-violence/).

Let’s run down the details so that you don’t forget:

📣Time: Starts at 10 AM and until supplies last
📣Location: UTSC, BV264
📣Please note UCHECK must be filled out prior to picking up your kit!

We also require that you use the registration link in our Linktree (https://linktr.ee/hssautsc) to let us know you are interested in getting a package! The registration process also helps with contact tracing! Unfortunately, even if you register you may not be guaranteed a de-stressor kit as it is still operating on a first-come-first-serve basis.
