❄️The Fisheries and Marine Institute is proud to deliver this update on our researcher & Tara Polaris Chief Scientist Dr. Maxime Geoffroy, overwintering on the historic Arctic drift expedition!🚨

After two months of travel to the targeted ice floe, the crew of 12 officially encased in ice on September 9th, and are starting their drift.

Four sailors, six scientists, a doctor and a media person are now set to drift together, following physical and psychological fitness tests and training.
They will embark on the most demanding phase of this odyssey, and journey into darkness for months of polar night.

The team will be relieved in mid-April, by plane, as spring arrives.
