Healthcare professionals spend their days caring for others. Through a new partnership, we’re helping care for them.

Western Community College, through its EDGE Student Massage Therapy Clinic, has partnered with Surrey Hospitals Foundation to provide complimentary wellness massages to Surrey Memorial Hospital staff.

Every Friday, students from WCC’s Registered Massage Therapy program provide on-site sessions under the supervision of Registered Massage Therapists. The initiative gives healthcare professionals an opportunity to relieve tension and prioritize their well-being without leaving the workplace.

It also provides WCC students with valuable supervised clinical experience while allowing them to support those who care for our community every day.

Together, WCC and Surrey Hospitals Foundation are bringing education, healthcare and community wellness together to support the people behind the care.

Western Community College is deeply saddened by the devastating flash floods and mudslides affecting communities along the Nepal–China border.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted, including those who have lost loved ones, those waiting for news from family and friends, and communities facing the aftermath of this tragedy.

Some members of the WCC community may have personal connections to the affected areas. We encourage students, faculty and staff who may be affected to reach out if they need support.

WCC’s Healthy Minds Hub and other available resources are here to help anyone experiencing emotional or personal challenges.

Today, we celebrate International Youth Day and the aspirations that connect young people around the world.

This year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” recognizes that while young people may come from different communities, cultures, and circumstances, many share the same hopes: access to quality education, meaningful opportunities, decent work, and a future they can be proud of.

At Western Community College, we’re proud to prepare future professionals who can help create those opportunities. Through programs such as Early Childhood Education and Educational Assistant, our students develop the knowledge and skills to support children and young people as they learn, grow, and shape their futures.

We recognize the diversity, resilience, and potential of young people and the educators and professionals who help support their journey.
