Meleny's Paintings and Prints If your not being creative you are not living! I am a working artist, living in the cozy historic village of Steveston, in Richmond, BC, Canada.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Calgary, a diploma in Art and Design from Red Deer, College, and diploma in Interior Design from Mount Royal College. I was the Vancouver Property Manager for Air Canada for 9 years before I quit to raise my two sweet girls and help run our film production company. In the last 11 years I have been fine tuning my skills researching my fav

ourite illustrators, authors and artists. I am an avid lover of photography and have made it my mission to be creative with it every day. I have am fascinated with sunrises, sunsets and anything mood inspiring and thought provoking. I love the innocents and wonder of children and childhood. Watching my own children, discover, struggle and grow has been a gift I am so extremely grateful for. I've been painting and drawing my entire life, winning awards and scholarships since I was in grade school. I love pouring my soul into my own creations but also love working with clients to create a one of a kind piece that is uniquely meaningful to them. My first shot at a pastel painting in years. I had so much fun with Lynda Baxter and everyone from Sylvan Lake Art Society. I rarely have time to finish a peace in class but I think this is complete. It was really helpful to walk away and look at it from afar several times. 🥰 Soft Pastels are fun. ❤️ moments

This last weekends workshop was a flying success. Lol! 😂 Lots of beginners and skilled drawers in one room. So much learning happens combining the two. Sending out a big thank you to everyone who trusted me to lead them in learning. I had so much fun and I hope you did too! 💛

I currently have 3 pieces showing at the Red Deer YMCA. A portion of sale for each piece goes towards Sylvan Lake Art Society and future workshops. This piece, “I’ve Seen Clouds From Both Side Now” is 9”x 12”, pencil crayon and is unframed. Go have a look there are 8 display cases full of art to enjoy.

Alberta night fishing! After days of hard rain, they’ll be days like this! It’s a contrast to morning fishing off the docks in Steveston village, in Richmond BC. A completely different charm but an experience equally enjoyable to witness. There’s nothing like the golden light, in the great Canadian outdoors! The sunsets here are stunning. The sound of 9:45PM Bukz, Wednesday night, Karaoke floating along the shore line. The entire bar broken out, singing in time to classic country tunes. These are the best nights. An MC singer leading the crowd. Go Austen! We’re singing with you all out here on the pier. ☀️🎶
