In Feeding the City’s newest report, we explore our individual and collective relationships to food. In recent years, we have seen the rise of diet cultures, many of which promote monotonous, universalized approaches to eating that disregard cultural practices related to food. We recognize that each person has a different relationship to the food that they grow or consume. As such, we should not focus our collective energies on promoting a universalized diet. Rather, we must work to ensure that individuals and communities have equitable access to fresh, culturally significant foods.
