Welcome to the Summer Semester, new students! ☀️ Here’s a quick checklist to help you prepare for your first semester:

✔️ Register for the Peer Mentorship Program and connect with senior students who can help guide you.
✔️ Upload your photo and get your student ID online through the myCard website.
✔️ Review your timetable on myCentennial so you know the times and locations of your classes and labs.
✔️ Purchase your textbooks online through the Bookstore website.
✔️ Explore ways to get involved on campus through Student Life and CCSAI.

🚨 If you have not yet received your stamped passport or study permit, the deadline to register and begin attending classes is May 18. If you are unable to arrive by this date, please submit a request to defer your start date to the Admissions Representative for your region. Happy orientation week to all the new students joining our Centennial fam! Summer semester is rapidly approaching and the best way for a successful start is attending orientation. Here is the upcoming schedule:

• Tuesday, May 5, 10:00 – 2:00, Progress Campus 💼🍝
• Wednesday, May 6, 10:00 – 2:00, Ashtonbee Campus 🚗
•Thursday, May 7, 10:00 – 2:00, Morningside Campus 🩺
• Thursday, May 7, 1:00 – 3:00, Online Learning 💻

For students who need to complete their English Skills Assessment, in-person testing will be available on-site after each orientation.

🗓️ Tuesday, March 3: Join the Global Goals Jam Canada General Audience for the keynote & panel discussion, Lunch & Learn and the final pitch presentations

🗓️ Wednesday, March 4: The Badminton Buddies Club tournament is open to members and walk-ins! 🏸 The tournament features both recreational and competitive games, and racquets will be awarded to the winners.

What a year 2025 has been! ✨ Congratulations on everything you accomplished this year fam, you should be proud of all the hard work you put in! 🫶

FYI the College will be closed from noon today, December 24 and reopening on January 5.

This break does count as a ‘regularly scheduled break’ according to IRCC policy and you can work full-time off-campus until classes restart…but don’t work too hard!

From Career Change to AI Innovator: Adriana’s Story

Adriana Ariza came to Canada ready for a new challenge. After five years in manufacturing, she wanted a career that pushed her creatively and technically. That led her to Centennial College’s Software Engineering Technology – Artificial Intelligence program.

She dove into machine learning, ethical AI, full-stack development, and hands-on projects — including building a multilingual live chat system powered by her own AI model. A co-op placement later launched her into her current role as a Data Engineer.

Her story is a powerful reminder that learning, curiosity, and persistence can open doors to an entirely new future.

Hey Centennial fam! Getting ready to start your program in January 2026? 🤩 Follow these steps to complete your registration:

1. Pay your tuition fees as outlined on your offer letter 💸

2. Upload all your required documents (including Study Permit Approval Letter) on myCentennial 📑
Wait for the admission team to approve your documents.

3. Complete your Skills Assessment (online or in person). You will be notified by email if an assessment is required.

4. Build you timetable! 🗓️

5. Access headSTART for pre-arrival assistance to Canada! 🇨🇦

Classes start on January 12. If you need assistance with registration, drop us a line 💻.

A tentative agreement has been reached between the College Employer Council and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, representing full-time support staff at colleges across Ontario. Picketing is set to end immediately, and staff are set to return to work on Thursday, October 16.
