The annual Anti-Oppression in Health Care & Sciences Symposium is set for Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 9AM - 3PM! The main goals of the event are to create a space for learners to discuss equity and justice issues within academic spaces, by showcasing work they are engaging in and also connecting with others working across Temerty Medicine & in the community. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided free of charge.

We invite you to join us for a day of guest speakers, workshops, and connecting with student groups who are all committed to anti-oppression work in healthcare. This event is open to all Temerty Medicine & U of T students, faculty, staff, and members of the TAHSN community. We would love as many people as possible to hear about this event!

The UofT Medical Society has made various updates to our website (https://www.uoftmedsoc.com/) over the year. There are some new pages and features that you may find valuable if you're in search of upcoming opportunities, room bookings, contact information for MedSoc execs and faculty, and more!

Some new pages we have include:

1.) Communications & Election - Learn more about the communication pathway for various issues or inquiries. Additionally, there is further detail provided about the various elections held throughout the year and the different positions available during each election cycle.

2.) MedSoc Meetings - Past MedSoc meeting minutes along with information about how to submit a motion or point of discussion to be discussed at a MedSoc meeting are available.

3.) Room Bookings - If you are a MedSoc ratified group, you are able to book space on campus for your meetings or events. Learn how to do so today!

4.) Wellness Resources - SHINE and the Wellness Ambassadors have worked with MedSoc to put together a list of welfare resources for all students to access.

5.) Upcoming Events/Opportunities - If you are looking for a workshop to attend or an extracurricular to get involved with, this page has a list of opportunities for you.

The Medical Society will be holding its Winter Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, April 5th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. All students of the MD Program are encouraged to attend! Food delivery gift cards will be raffled off to 10% of attendees!

The structure of our meeting will be as follows:
- Introductions and opening remarks
- Discussion on pre-submitted questions (see form below to submit questions)
- Break
- General town hall Q&A period

A PowerPoint containing updates from each executive council portfolio will be released in the days leading up to the meeting.

If you are interested in making revisions to the council governance by way of motion, please feel free to reach out to the Speaker or Executive Administrator.

The Medical Society AGM is a great opportunity for every member of the student body to see what we have been up to as MedSoc and give us feedback. This is also an opportunity for you to let us know what issues are important to you.

The structure of the AGM will be as follows:

2) Discussion of pre-submitted questions (See the form below to submit your questions)
3) Break (10 mins)
4) General town hall Q+A
