At last week's Toronto Design Review Panel, during a joint session with the U of T Design Review Committee, the Centre for Civilizations, Cultures, and Cities (CCC) made its first appearance in front of the experts, and the highly-anticipated project did not disappoint.

Dear Graduate Students,

The NMCGSA will be hosting a dissertation-writing workshop with Dr. Daniel Newman, the director of the graduate-level writing support, on April 11th at 1:00pm in the conference room (4 Bancroft Ave., room 200B).

The workshop will consist of a 20-30 minute talk about the purpose and general structure of a dissertation, followed by some hands-on exercises, including directed reading of schematic parts of completed dissertations from past PhDs in the department. We will also be doing a few "micro-writing" exercises, which can be customized for different stages of dissertation writing.

This workshop is imperative for all graduate students of all levels; it also provides a source of discipline-specific views to complement Dr. Newman's. Attendance is not limited to NMC students.

Refreshments will be served!
