jhr Ryerson - Journalists for Human Rights Ryerson's chapter of Journalists for Human Rights RyeJHR strives to increase awareness surrounding not only human rights abuses, but also triumphs.

The mission of RyeJHR is for any Ryerson student to take international to local issues and engage with the Ryerson community through all forms of traditional and digital media including but not limited to: radio, print, videography, photography, social media and our own website. Throughout the 2017-2018 year RyeJHR will host events and partner with other campus groups to help educate the Ryerson community and create a globally knowledgable and aware campus.

Amid COVID-19, construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline has continued, but the Wet’suwet’en people have opposed the pipeline for over a year.

Cheyenne Bholla put together a timeline of the nationwide solidarity movement that "Shut Down Canada," which brings us from 2012 to May 14, 2020 when the Memorandum of Understanding was officially ratified.

The MOU addresses who has governance over the Wet’suwet’en people, but does not address the pipeline.

We're hosting a pub night and you're all invited!

Come out to the Ram in the Rye on November 22 at 7pm for food, a movie, trivia and prizes!
