Invitation to the York community: students, staff and faculty:

YU Fossil Free, with the support of the York Federation of Students and the Environmental and Urban Change Students' Association, is hosting a Divestment 101 webinar to explain what fossil fuel divestment is, why it is important, and how York University students, staff and faculty can get involved.

YU Fossil Free is a student and faculty-led movement calling on York University to divest from fossil fuels and reinvest in a just, climate-safe future through transparent, sustainable investment practices. We believe this is urgent and necessary if the university is to be consistent with its commitments to social, fiscal, and environmental sustainability announced in the 2020-2025 University Academic Plan. We strive to educate the York University community on the importance of divesting from fossil fuels and reinvesting in a just, climate-safe future.

This webinar is open to everybody, and will be an engaging, interactive session with a Q&A panel at the end of the short presentations.

Time: Wednesday, October 6, starting at 4:00 pm ET.
Location: Online by Zoom
