We continue our series of inventors with Latin American connections!

Roberto Landell was responsible, among many others, for the telauxiofono, caleofono, anematofono, teletiton and edifono. These laid the groundwork for sound amplification, wireless audio transmission, and purification of sound.

Four years ago, we had the pleasure of hosting Eduardo Contreras Melia, an indefatigable Chilean politician, journalist and lawyer.

Contreras, along with Gladis Marin, brought the first charges against Augusto Pinochet, then Senator for life in the country. These efforts eventually lifted the legal protections that Pinochet enjoyed at the time and began the legal processes against the former dictator.
