Humber’s distinctive program promotes diverse multi-disciplinary performing and visual artistic expressions, supported by organizational competence in revenue development (earned and contributed), management of human resources (artists, volunteers, compan

ies) planning (financial, strategic, special events, career) and communications (multi-platform, digital, marketing). The program is situated within the creative milieu of Humber’s renowned programs in theatre, writing, visual and digital arts, music, photography, animation, television and film. The program’s hybrid and online components allow for flexible learning arrangements. Real-world experience is gained through varied field placements in commercial, government and not-for-profit arts and culture organizations, and collaborative capstone projects which demonstrate to employers the breadth of graduates’ abilities.

Join our team! The Doris McCarthy Gallery, University of Toronto Scarborough, is now hiring two positions: Collections Coordinator & Curator! Both are full-time, term positions, ending March 2025.

Collections Coordinator:
Under general direction of the Executive Director and Chief Curator, and in collaboration with other Doris McCarthy Gallery staff, the Collections Coordinator will oversee the DMG collection, will write acquisition proposals, Cultural Property, and grant applications. The incumbent will manage the collections using Embark Collections Management Software. The Collections Coordinator will navigate the complexities of working within an ‘A’ designated institution.

Curator:
Under general direction of the Executive Director and Chief Curator, and in collaboration with other Doris McCarthy Gallery staff, the Curator will be responsible for developing and implementing exhibitions and related programming for the Doris McCarthy Gallery. The incumbent will assume curatorial oversight of specific programming, and will develop content with guest curators, artists, and creatives to produce activities that support meaningful engagement with art. The Curator will foster relationships within the university, in our surrounding communities, and with organizations to build sustainable programs and partnerships that strengthen community. The Curator will serve as a resource to the Gallery’s various residency programs, and will contribute to an equitable environment where ideas are openly exchanged, explored, and valued.
