The 🇨🇦 cannabis market more than doubled in value between 2019 and 2020, increasing to $2.6 billion from $1.2 billion. But what happens to our competitive advantage as 🇺🇸 legalization looms?
Delve into timely business and legal issues like this in our Cannabis Law course. Led by Chris Nyberg, co-chair of the Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP Cannabis group, the course offers GPLLM students a deeper understanding of Canada’s complex cannabis regulations, with engaging discussions on how to deftly maneuver within its ever-evolving framework.

Canada's advantage in cannabis is at the mercy of changing political tides. Learn why domestic rules are a burden for the industry in Canada.

Years of investment from local universities like University of Toronto, a growing talent pool of tech workers, and federal programs bringing skilled workers into Canada have transformed Toronto into a booming tech town, says The New York Times. "For all the excitement around places like Austin and Miami, the biggest tech expansion has been in Canada’s largest city." And exploring the intersection between the legal system and technology is the GPLLM and our Innovation, Law, and Technology concentration. Our one-year program at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law prepares professionals for the legal challenges posed by accelerating tech advances, an especially useful skillset during a tech boom. Reach out to learn whether the GPLLM could help accelerate your career.
