From Placement To Job offer! 💙

Today our PSW student Kylie Rideout submitted her placement book after successfully completing her placement and she had already received a job offer from the same facility, ready to start right after her final exam.

During site visits, Clinical Instructor Lathasree Uppicherla met Kylie’s preceptor, who described her as an active, dedicated participant and said they would welcome more Computek College students in the future.

Kylie was grateful, confident, and excited and moments like this are why placement matters. A strong practicum doesn’t just complete a program. It lets students prove themselves as PSWs and step into real work serving the community.

Congratulations, Kylie. We’re proud of you.

The Council serves as a key platform for advancing business-informed solutions to Ontario’s labour market and skills challenges. Through regular engagement with employers, postsecondary institutions, training partners, and government, the Council helps identify emerging workforce pressures and translate member insights into practical policy and advocacy priorities.

With a strong track record of having trained for labour market needs of Ontario for 35 years, we are excited to bring our insights and expertise in shaping the Council's agenda.
