The Psychology of Emerging Adulthood Research Lab (PEARL) at the University of Toronto is seeking 1-2 research volunteers to assist with a study on cannabis use motives among emerging adults. All research tasks will be conducted virtually at this time and the estimated time commitment is approximately 5 hours a week (flexible).

It is officially CPA month! In less than three weeks, many psychologists will be gathering in Toronto to learn about all of the exciting work happening in psychology. As a part of that, we are hosting our annual CSIOP Mentor Event! Students can take this time to get to know IO professionals and hear about their career journeys. We are lucky to have 12 amazing volunteers this year who can give you advice as you progress. This is an informal event where you can also meet students who share your interests!! The Social Perception and Cognition Lab is preparing to conduct a study on how people make different judgments about students’ writing—and to do this, we need help from students like you!
We are currently asking for samples of academic writing from UofT students who have recently completed at least one 400-level psychology course. We would like to show anonymous excerpts from these writing samples to people from outside the UofT community, to help us learn about how people perceive and make decisions about academic writing from students.

You will be asked to submit a copy of your final paper from a 400-level psych course and answer a few additional questions about yourself. I am the marketing director at the University of Toronto STEM Fellowship Branch! We are a club at St. George campus!

We have the pleasure of hosting a virtual event. It will consist of a current medical student at the University of Toronto speaking on their journey entering medicine and their experience in medical school. Discussions will focus on different routes to apply and enter medicine and an overview of the medical school journey and career opportunities. The session will also offer opportunities to ask questions related to medical school, job prospects and untraditional routes to entering medicine.

I am a doctoral student in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development at OISE, University of Toronto and my faculty supervisor is Dr. Michel Ferrari. I am conducting research, under the supervision of Dr. Anne-Claude Bedard, on positive factors that enhance satisfaction with life in undergraduate students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In this study, we are interested in recruiting undergraduates with a previous diagnosis of ADHD. Participants are asked to complete a short (about 15 minutes) survey. Participants will be entered in a draw for a 1 in 5 chance to win a $35 Amazon gift card.

Hey Life Sci Students! Get ready for possibly the biggest life science collab you’ll see this year! After 2 years, the Art of Science Coffee House is back! Oftentimes, being in university means forgetting about your hobbies and not having enough time to practice what you love. With that being said, this event is aimed at showcasing the various talents (dancing, singing, painting, photography, etc.) that students in the STEM field rarely get to demonstrate and to re-emphasize the importance of maintaining these interests as an active aspect of our lives.

Individual and group performances are all welcome! Refreshments will be provided and the event is free to attend!

Hello students!

If you are interested in getting involved with research and/or learning about your potential career paths after graduation, consider attending the upcoming virtual event “Beyond STEM” that is being hosted by CARRM and Pueblo Science UofT. This is a two-parter event that will take place on January 28, where we will first be discussing ways to get involved with research followed by a panel discussion regarding STEM careers. We will have several professionals across various STEM fields (such as pharmaceutical, engineering, data science and many more!) who will be sharing their unique career pathways, experiences in STEM, and advice on how to jumpstart a career after graduating. Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with each speaker and ask questions. Each speaker will talk for 15 minutes long plus 3 minutes for questions.
