Our hearts go out to the families, students, staff, first responders, and all those affected by the tragic events in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia yesterday.

Words feel inadequate for a loss of this magnitude, but we stand in solidarity with this community as they grieve and begin to heal.

Our thoughts are with the victims and everyone impacted by this senseless act of violence.

If you or someone you know is feeling affected by this event, confidential mental health support is available in British Columbia at 310-6789 (no area code required).

Many people underestimate how much typing affects day-to-day learning.

Assignments, emails, online quizzes, applications, even basic computer tasks often require more typing than people expect. When typing feels slow or uncomfortable, it can quietly add stress to tasks that otherwise feel manageable.

If you want to become more comfortable using a keyboard, here are a few free, browser-based tools that many learners find helpful. We are not affiliated with any of them. They are simply free resources worth knowing about.

If you want to check your current typing speed and accuracy, this is a simple place to start:
https://www.typingcore.com/test

It uses real paragraphs, does not require an account, and gives a realistic baseline without pressure.

If you would like structured lessons that teach proper finger placement and technique from the beginning:
https://www.typing.com

This is often helpful for learners who want clear guidance and a step-by-step approach.

If you already type but want to improve speed and accuracy through targeted practice:
https://www.keybr.com

It adapts exercises based on where you slow down or make mistakes and provides detailed feedback.

Typing is a practical life skill. Improving comfort and accuracy can make many everyday tasks feel easier, even when the task itself has nothing to do with computers.

You are welcome to explore whichever option feels most useful for you.
