EGSA - Waterloo's Environment Graduate Students Association THE EGSA represents all graduate students in the SEED, SERS and GEM departments.

The EGSA is responsible for planning events, holding meetings, and being the voice of the Master's and PhD students in the following programs:

Hey Environment Grads 🚨! Join us tomorrow for the 2025 Environment Graduate Conference 📣!

This exciting event will be jam-packed with graduate student presentations, panel discussions, and exhibitor booths! Join us between 9:00am and 4:30pm for the conference, and meet us at the Grad House post-conference to chat with fellow-environment grads in a more casual setting 🍻.

We are looking forward to seeing you all there and to learn about all of the exciting research that is being conducted within our Faculty!

Attention Environment Grads 🚨📣! Tonight is the last call for registrations for the 2025 Environment Graduate Conference 🌚!

Register as a presenter, exhibitor, or general attendee before its too late!

Join us on Friday September 26th between 9:00am and 4:30pm, then head to the Grad House for an exciting social to close the event!

This conference is an amazing networking opportunity allowing graduate students within the Faculty of Environment to connect with their peers, learn about research being conducted within the Faculty, discuss with exhibitors, and meet with Faculty members.

Interested in presenting? The Environment Graduate Conference is a great event for first-time presenters or seasoned grads. This low-stakes environment will allow you to strengthen your presentation skills while gaining valuable insight on your research from an audience of your peers!

Poster and oral presentation doesn't fit your research? Not a problem!
At the Environment Graduate Conference, we welcome other forms of knowledge dissemination, allowing you to customize your presentation to the research you want to communicate! Just select "Other" on the registration form and let us know your presentation plans!

We welcome oral, poster, and non-traditional presentation formats at this event, providing a laid-back environment to refine your research dissemination skills! 📉

Aren't presenting? No worries, this event will be a great networking opportunity, allowing you to chat with peers, faculty members, and exhibitors!

Here are a few examples of what kind of research you can present at this year's conference:
Current Research, 3-Minute Thesis, Independent Research, etc. 📈

Short on time? Dust-off an old poster or presentation and bring it out on Friday September 24th!

This is a great opportunity to share your research with a wide audience and a low-stakes environment for you to practice your presentation skills!

Not sure what to present 🤔💭? Re-use an old poster or presentation of your research OR practice for an upcoming defence or comprehensive exam by presenting your current research!

Want to spice things up a bit 🌶? Why not try out a 3-minute thesis! This is an excellent short-form oral presentation that can convey your research to a wide audience in a bite-sized format!

Are you passionate about building community and supporting new graduate students? EGSA is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help welcome incoming students at Orientation Day this Fall! Whether you're great at leading campus tours, answering questions, or just making people feel at home, we’d love your help. Volunteers will assist with event facilitation, student engagement, and general support throughout the day.
