Congratulations to Thomas Couture and Alexia Lemay-Evans, recipients of two of Acadia University’s highest student-athlete honours presented during Spring Convocation.

Thomas Couture, of the Axemen hockey program, received the 2026 George Wilbert Cox Cup and Medal, awarded annually to the male graduating student-athlete who demonstrates outstanding achievement in athletics, extracurricular involvement and academics.

Couture delivered one of the top goaltending seasons in the country this year, leading both the AUS and U SPORTS with 861 saves while earning AUS first team all-star honours, U SPORTS Goaltender of the Year recognition and U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian status. He also became the first goaltender in Acadia history to be named U SPORTS Men’s Hockey Goaltender of the Year.

Alexia Lemay-Evans, of the Axewomen volleyball program, received the 2026 Haley Medal and Prize, awarded annually to the female graduating student-athlete who demonstrates outstanding achievement in athletics, extracurricular involvement and academics.

Lemay-Evans capped off her career with a third consecutive AUS first team all-star selection after ranking among the conference leaders in points, kills and digs while continuing to establish herself as one of the top all-around players in the AUS.

Congratulations to Thomas and Alexia on their outstanding accomplishments and lasting contributions to Acadia Athletics.
