The Geneva School of Diplomacy is pleased to welcome Dr. Martin Chungong for “Democracy - Its Purpose and Challenges,” the opening session of the Fall Semester 2026 Emerging Issues and Persistent Challenges seminar series.

Dr. Chungong, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (2014-2026) and Advisory Council Member of GSD, will explore the role, value, and current pressures facing democratic systems in today’s global context.

The Geneva School of Diplomacy was pleased to welcome its September 2026 intake to campus for Induction Day.

The day gave incoming students the opportunity to meet the GSD team, connect with their peers, and prepare for the academic year ahead through academic induction sessions, student life guidance, and practical presentations on settling into Geneva.

We also thank Swisscare Switzerland Ltd. and UBS for joining us and supporting our students with useful guidance on health insurance and opening a bank account in Switzerland.

As the new semester begins, we look forward to seeing our students bring their perspectives, experiences, and ambitions into the GSD community.

A look back at the Gala Dinner and Closing Ceremony of this summer’s GSD Leadership Academy.

Held at the Hotel d’Angleterre in Geneva, the evening marked the formal conclusion of the programme. Students signed their summit documents and final resolutions, received their Leadership Academy awards, and were presented with their certificates of completion.

It was a fitting close to an intensive week of learning, visits, exchanges, and shared experiences, giving students the opportunity to reflect on what they had achieved and enjoy one final evening together with faculty and the GSD team.

This week, the Geneva School of Diplomacy will welcome its incoming students to campus for Induction Day on Friday, 4 September 2026.

Induction Day marks the beginning of the September intake and gives new students the opportunity to meet the GSD team, connect with their peers, and prepare for the academic year ahead.

The new semester will officially begin on Monday, 7 September 2026.

We are pleased to feature GSD alumnus Charles Ajunwa, who completed the Certificate course before continuing with the Master of International Relations at the Geneva School of Diplomacy.

“My time at GSD was one of a kind.”

During his time at GSD, Charles valued the small class sizes, accessible lecturers, international community, and access to the United Nations Library. As part of his studies, he completed an internship with the International Organization for Migration, where he contributed to the Diversity & Inclusion Internship Programme.

Today, Charles is based in London and works as Project and Governance Manager for the NHS England Prevention Programme. While his career has evolved beyond the UN system, he continues to apply the principles of diplomacy, dialogue, and international cooperation in his professional work.
