Public lecture: Understanding Transference & Countertransference as Fundamental Concepts of Analytical Psychology

While C. G. Jung possessed a natural and intuitive grasp of transference and countertransference, his lack of a coherent method and clinical technique for working with these dynamics — along with what Jan Wiener describes as his “ambivalence and mercurial attitude to matters of method” — has, at times, left Jungian practitioners “floundering and confused” when seeking to deepen their understanding and skill in this area. The aim of this lecture is to lay a foundational framework for engaging with transference and countertransference within the therapeutic relationship.

Public lecture: Did P***o kill Eros ?

Reflections from a Jungian Standpoint on Sexuality

Sexuality is one of the core drives of us humans, fascinates, intrigues and allows us to experience wonderful, sensuous experiences. At the same time, it remains a cultural and personal challenge. Should we control and repress our desires? Can we integrate our sexual fantasies in a relationship? How is Sexuality connected to love and does the wide spread availability of po*******hy kill subtle form of sexual encounters?

The picture archive of the C.G. Jung Institute Zurich comprises two exceptional collections: The C.G. Jung Collection with approx. 4500 pictures of his patients from the years 1917-1955, and the Jolande Jacobi Collection (Jung’s pupil and colleague, 1890-1973) with approx. 6500 pictures and drawings from the 40s to 70s of the 20th century. Last August our curating team put together a wonderful exhibition centered around a patient’s transformational journey along the serpents path. It was a rare opportunity to see more than a 150 pictures from Jung’s patient collection.

At the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich in Küsnacht, intellectual depth meets historic elegance.

Since 1979, the Institute has been housed in the historic Seehof on Hornweg 28, made available through the commune of Küsnacht. Situated along the shores of Lake Zurich, this remarkable residence—originally built in the late 15th century—offers an atmosphere as inspiring as the lectures held within its walls.

Once home to the Swiss poet Conrad Ferdinand Meyer (1868–1872), the Seehof is now a protected historical preservation. Carefully renovated in 1978, the building retains its distinctive architectural character, featuring ornate stucco ceilings, decorative tile stoves, and period details that reflect its rich cultural legacy.

Join us where history, scholarship, and setting come together in a truly unique environment.
