What if a four-semester student project outgrew the classroom entirely?
During the MSc in Preneurship for Regenerative Food Systems (MSc PREFS), students spend four semesters working on their own Agro Food Project, the heart of the programme. In interdisciplinary teams, they collaborate with partners from business, research and NGOs to address real-world food systems challenges.🎓
One of these projects, titled "City of Winterthur", developed a concept for strengthening Winterthur's local food system. The team behind it, Julia Müller, Natalie Sell, Bettina Tschuor and Sandra Hugentobler, didn't stop at graduation. They developed the project into WiRK, an independent hub now bringing together gastronomy, retail, agriculture and households across Winterthur to build stronger, more local food value chains. 🍅
WiRK has since launched its own podcast, a space for daydreaming about what a future-fit local food system could look like. It's built around people, their stories, their ideas, and the everyday realities of producing, distributing, processing and consuming food in Winterthur.
This is exactly what we hope to see, not just another report on a shelf, but systems thinking, preneurship and genuine commitment creating impact long after the module has ended.
