The 26th Annual Willem C. Vis Moot has officially ended and with yesterday’s info session for the next generation of mooties also has our journey. A journey that began in Zurich, passed by Amsterdam, Helsinki and Hong Kong and found its due closure in Vienna. A journey full of horse puns laughed about, tears cried, arguments fought over, sleepless nights, early mornings, computer errors, drinks enjoyed, and many many business cards exchanged and memories made. A journey of teammates that turned into friends, of friends that turned into (moot-) family.

What a ride!🐎

And of course we are hyped about the success and the unbelievable achievement of this years’ team in Vienna and Hong-Kong: 3 runner-up awards and 4 honorable mentions! More than we could have ever imagined.

We would like to thank our coaches who invested their time, thoughts and energy in us and pushed us to our very limits. Without them, this whole journey would have never been possible, let alone been this successful: Janis Matthys, Dora Peric, Flavio Peter, Johannes Landbrecht and Philipp Habegger. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Here’s to all the countries visited, the lessons learned and - most importantly - the friends made.🥂🍾

See you next year! Yet this time, on the other side of the table 😉

After having caught up with sleep and cured those nasty colds, it is time to announce the incredible 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗖. 𝗩𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮:

We literally pleaded our hearts out. In the oral arguments, our team advanced to the 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟯𝟮 out of more than 370 teams - Top 10! A team achievement we are really hyped about!

And it is with pleasure to announce that our wonderfully eloquent Tessa Douma won an 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 for her outstanding performances in the general rounds and that *drumroll* Yves Tjon-A-Meeuw has even ranked 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝘁!

We are incredibly proud that on top of our two rankings (2nd and 3rd) for the memoranda in Hong Kong, the Team of University of Zurich was awarded an 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁 in Vienna.

We are more than happy and proud with these results and cannot believe the moot is officially over...

Congratulations to all other Swiss Teams and their outstanding performances and achievements!

We are incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to plead amongst the best 32 Teams out of more than 370 teams that participated. We pleaded our hearts out, nevertheless the Team of the National Law School of India prevailed in the split decision of the jury. Well deserved and all the best!

We look forward to some well deserved drinks.
