The Daylight Award 2026 in the category Daylight in Architecture goes to ETH Professor Momoyo Kaijima and Yoshiharu Tsukamoto, the architects and founders of Atelier Bow-Wow.

The essential factor in their architecture is the "usage of the buildings, their vital relationship with daylight and weather, and with the inhabitants", the jury writes. "In this capacity, their work is distinguished and exemplary in contemporary architecture."

During a one-week exercise in the Studio Foundation, first-year architecture students built physical mock-ups that formed the starting point for their design work during the spring semester.

The workshop took place in the garage of the HIL building with more than 300 students and was supported by Wick Reuse and Spross Transport & Recycling.

Across other studios as well, experimental 1:1 construction and the use of maker spaces are becoming increasingly important at D-ARCH.
