The Institutional Development & International Academic Affairs Office (IDIAAO) is committed to the enhancement of the academic quality at Eastern Mediterranean University through developing institution-wide projects and creating connections with international academic and professional institutions abroad. Since its establishment on the 1st of December 2014, the IDIAA Office has been responsible fo

r developing strategic plans and administering accreditations which includes the preparation and execution of institutional accreditation efforts. A successful institutional accreditation indicates that the university maintains quality management in research and education, which assures the excellence of the universities study programmes. This is supported with strategic planning actions we take with relevant departments where we also provide institutional evaluation programs for greater eminence. Through its strategic development, the Office also arranges and maintains international academic cooperation agreements including developing joint academic programs and student exchange opportunities.

International Summer School Video.

World Bank’s Senior Education Specialist Nina Arnhold in EMU

World Bank’s Senior Education Specialist Nina Arnhold visited Eastern Mediterranean University’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen.

During the two-hour meeting with Prof. Dr. Sözen, Dr. Arnhold, who visited Northern Cyprus to gather information about the higher education system of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as part of a World Bank project, received information on higher education system in general and Eastern Mediterranean University’s projects in specific. As a result of Dr. Nina Arnhold’s said research on the higher education system of Northern Cyprus, World Bank will prepare a strategy document on the higher education sector of Northern Cyprus, which will pose large contributions on the development of the said sector. At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen also highlighted Eastern Mediterranean University’s sensitive attitude towards quality assurance, international openings and accreditations.

Highlighting the distinguished place of Eastern Mediterranean University within the sector, Dr. Nina Arnhold also invited EMU’s support in the higher education workshop taking place in Nicosia in June.

Consultant Vitus Püttmann, Coordinator for EMU Vice Rector’s Office for Academic Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Korhan and Institutional Development and International Academic Affairs Office Coordinator Cahit Ezel were also present at the said meeting.
