On June 3, 2026, the American University of Cyprus (AUCY) and COMED officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a strategic partnership for academic, cultural, and international cooperation. Under this agreement, the Third Cyprus Arab Forum will be hosted at the AUCY campus.

The MoU was signed in the presence of key representatives from both parties, including AUCY’s President, Dr. Marc-Antoine Zabbal, members of AUCY’s Board, Mr. Joe Ibrahim and Mr. Farid Haikal, and Dr. George Moufarrej representing COMED.

This agreement marks an important milestone in strengthening institutional collaboration between the two organizations and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening dialogue, exchange, and cooperation between Cyprus and the Arab world.

Through this partnership, AUCY reaffirms its dedication to advancing academic excellence, cultural engagement, and international outreach. The collaboration is designed to promote meaningful connections between institutions, professionals, and communities, while supporting initiatives that enhance mutual understanding and regional cooperation.

The Third Cyprus Arab Forum will take place from October 29, 2026 to November 1, 2026 at the AUCY campus. The forum is expected to bring together leaders, academics, and stakeholders from across Cyprus and the Arab region to discuss key topics of mutual interest and collaboration.

This initiative strengthens the long-standing ties between Cyprus and the Arab world and highlights AUCY’s continued mission for impactful academic and cultural exchange.

On May 28, 2026, the American University of Cyprus (AUCY) and Alpha Cyprus Media Group officially signed a Joint Venture Agreement, marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration for the year 2026.

The agreement was signed in the presence of representatives from both organizations. Alpha Cyprus Media Group CEO Mr. Petros Petrou, Ms. Irene Christoforou (Marketing Manager), and Ms. Maria Sofocleous (Sales Manager), AUCY was represented by its Board: Dr. Marc-Antoine Zabbal, Mr. Christos Karas, Mr. Joe Ibrahim, Mr. Farid Haikal.

This milestone partnership establishes a broad framework for cooperation between higher education and mass media. It aims to combine AUCY’s academic expertise with Alpha Cyprus Media Group’s extensive television, radio, and digital networks to develop impactful educational, communication, and promotional initiatives across Cyprus.

Through this collaboration, both institutions seek to strengthen engagement with students and the wider public, enhance visibility of academic programs, and create innovative media-driven educational content that supports learning and institutional outreach.
